Mastercard ( Registered ) SecureCode
MastercardRegistered® SecureCode is a Mastercard service currently available to BMO Debit cardholders that provides enhanced security when making online purchases.
SecureCode leverages state-of-the-art technology that helps verify that your purchases are truly yours. In the event of uncertainty, you may be asked to further authenticate your identity via one-time passcode. It's safe, easy and free. And it's supported by more than 1 million online merchants — just look for the SecureCode logo at checkout.
MastercardRegistered® SecureCode adds an additional layer of protection for your purchases at participating online merchants. The enhanced security component will automatically apply to online transactions at participating merchants – no action is required.
If you are asked to further authenticate your identity via a one-time passcode, simply select your preferred contact method. When the passcode is received, enter it on the site and continue to finalize your purchase.
